Introduction:

Indian Energy storage space is in an interesting phase. This is the best time to enter Indian energy storage market. Indian energy storage sector is becoming exciting with 46 MW+ large scale projects announced in 2016 and 70 MWh+ of projects announced this year till date. Apart from these tenders, various private and government bodies are going for MW level energy storage projects in India. Other application areas like the electric vehicle, charging infrastructure, microgrids, telecom tower, C&I applications, Solar integration, microgrids, smart grid and smart cities will be the major catalyst for energy storage adoption in India.

India has been a huge market for conventional technologies like Lead Acid. Newer technologies like Li-ion have already witnessed acceptance in telecom towers, electric vehicles, and large scale solar integration projects. This extensive market has intrigued many foreign technology players as well as Indian companies to explore the sector. The Government is also creating encouraging policies like FAME India Initiative under NEMMP, draft energy storage Roadmap, National Smart Grid Mission (NSGM) and draft National Microgrid policy, Energy Storage staff paper by CERC, BIS Energy Storage Standards to boost the Indian energy storage market. We at IESA estimate the market potential to reach 200 GWh in 2017-2022.

IEEMA & IESA jointly organized 2 days’ non-residential MASTERCLASS on Energy Storage Technology, Applications & Manufacturing Process on 17th & 18th November 2017 in Mumbai.  As it was well received by the Industry, 2nd MASTERCLASS will be held on 15th & 16th June (Friday-Saturday) 2018 at New Delhi.  It will cover the fundamentals of Energy Storage, Systems, and Technologies.  It will provide a detailed overview of technologies, applications, usage and will help companies decide future step of actions to enter the Energy Storage business.

Objective of Workshop

The MASTERCLASS will counsel companies planning to enter the energy storage ecosystem; discuss strategy in storage manufacturing systems for both the global as well as the indigenous market. Existing manufacturers can expect advice and approach to grow their business to the next level. The class will highlight potential in the Indian market with pointers to the finer nuances of the industry, its key drivers, and commonly faced roadblocks.
