National Energy Conclave “Policy Issues and Regulatory Challenges in Indian Energy Market – The Way Forward”
                                                                                              9: 45 a.m., 7th February 2018, PHD House, New Delhi

India currently has an installed power generation capacity of about 248.510 GW and is the world's third largest producer of power with 4.8% global share in electricity generation. However over one third of India's rural population and 6% of the urban population have no access to electricity. Of those who have access to electricity, the supply is often intermittent and unreliable. Lack of favourable policy and regulatory environment for fuel based power plants, fuel shortages and linkages, dynamic allocation of coal mines for cost optimization, AT & C losses, poor financial health of DISCOMS, debt overhang of new plants, policy impetus for Renewables are some of the key issues and challenges for the sector.

Going ahead, the sector is poised to grow with new opportunities. Growth of the energy sector is dependent on solving some key challenges related to regulatory framework, developing appropriate financing mechanisms and ensuring efficient project management. On this backdrop, PHD Chamber is organizing “National Energy Conclave” on 7th February 2018, at 9:45 a.m. at PHD House, New Delhi. The objective of this conclave is to pursue the ongoing discussion process and to support the further work on Energy Sector development in India. Also to identify the gaps in implementation of relevant policies, share good practices and lessons learnt in order to work towards a common understanding to go forward.

A large number of delegates from Industry, senior officials of Central and State Governments, Senior Industrialists, Policy Makers, Thought Leaders, Financial Institutions,  etc. are expected to attend the Conclave.
