 and energy storage technologies being developed today can help us strengthen vital infrastructure across the globe â from the electric grid, to our telecommunications and transportation systemsâwhile also helping us meet our goals of growing our innovative manufacturing economy and promoting a clean environment.
The conference featured addresses from leading figures in both the public and private sectors and will include six sessions in which expert panels will address key topics in energy storage. On the first day, there was a panel of international energy storage industry leaders including Dr. Rahul Walawalkar, Executive Director of India Energy Storage Alliance. This panel moderated by Katherine Hamilton, Policy Director, Electricity Storage Association and included other industry experts including Jillis Raadschelders, Head of Energy Storage Practice, DNV-KEMA; Eric Hsieh, Market Development Director, A123 and Kevin Fok, Sales Manager, LG Chem. These experts discussed the markets for energy storage around the world.Â
The second session, a roundtable discussion panel, focused on the role for energy storage technologies in strengthening New Yorkâs infrastructure. This group, which included state leaders and key stakeholders involved in the three disaster-preparedness commissions created by Governor Cuomo in the wake of Superstorm Sandy, will discuss some of the key recommendations emerging from the work of the commissions. The first day concluded with an expert panel focused on the role for energy storage technologies on the electric grid.
The second day included a panel focused on developments for energy storage technologies in the transportation sector and provided insights about technological innovations, markets, policy drivers and other factors influencing energy storage applications in transportation.
A second panel focused on emerging markets for advanced batteries and energy storage technologies. A final panel of experts shared information and advice on funding opportunities for research, development and commercialization of energy storage technologies.
Capture the Energy conference provided a variety of networking opportunities for members as well as other attendees.Â
