Global Open Webinar on “NTPC’s 1000MWh Energy Storage Project Opportunity in India”

India’s energy storage market is shaping up very well and coming up with huge opportunities for the deployment of energy storage in its power sector. Recent announcement from the government of India like PLI manufacturing scheme for ACC & Niche ACC battery storage incentive worth USD 2.5 billion, release of draft ancillary services framework, draft National Electricity Plan (NEP) 2021 and ISTS waiver for Energy storage projects act as a catalyst for various upcoming energy storage deployment. Recently, NTPC Limited (National Thermal Power Corporation) has come up with a global EOI for setting up 1000MWh of grid-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at NTPC Power Plants in India with an aim to provide the Indian power grid with a flexible storage system. Also, GoI intend to come out with 4,000MWh of storage tender as an ancillary for four RLDCs (regional load dispatch centres) for RE-smoothing application.
