This year, the Indian Energy storage market received a mixed response from the government and tender authorities. PGCIL (3rd Project) & CEL project received a go-ahead signal from the government. NLC, BHEL and REIL projects are in the process of allocation to the project developer. But NTPC and SECI projects created a setback for the energy storage industry.
As a leading association in India, India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) received various queries from private parties for developing energy storage projects in India. The discussion will covers
- Advanced energy storage integrated projects for rooftop solar
- Energy Storage Integration for large-scale captive Solar Plant
- Energy Storage systems for commercial and industrial back up
- Energy Storage for rural and campus Microgrid (includes Tourism sector, Resorts, Temple, and Airports)
These projects are in the range of 50 kW to 1-5 MW. We at IESA feels that private projects have a great potential for this market to grow.
